Regional School District 19- E.O. Smith Continuity of Services Plan Safe Return to In-Person Learning 2021-2022

The Regional School District 19 Safe Return to In-Person Learning for the 2021-2022 school year has been created with guidance from the Center for Disease Control, local and state Departments of Public Health, and the E.O. Smith/Region 19 Re-Entry Steering Committee. This committee is comprised of administration, staff, parents, and Board of Education Members. The plan is framed to address the five areas developed by the Connecticut State Department of Education for all Local Education Agencies (LEA’s). These include: health and safety strategies, continuity of services, public comment, periodic review process, and understandable format. The guiding principles from our 20-21 reentry plan that focuses on ensuring the safety of our students and staff, equity, access and student supports, effective stakeholder communication, and rigorous and engaging instruction for all learners continues to be a touchpoint for 21-22 goals.

The Equity, Diversity, and Justice Committee of the Region 19 Board of Education Statement of Guiding Principles The Equity, Diversity, and Justice Committee of the Region 19 Board of Education was formed in September, 2020 to examine our actions, deliberations, decisions and policies with a clear and conscious regard to promoting, achieving and sustaining a school community which embodies and reflects its ongoing commitment to equity, diversity and justice.
