The Region 19 School District urges all using this artificial turf field to observe the following health and safety recommendations:
1. This field can get excessively hot on warm, sunny days. If you experience symptoms of heat-related illness, such as dizziness, weakness, headache, vomiting, or muscle cramps, move to a shaded area. Drink water, rest, and seek medical attention if you do not feel better.
2. Use of this field for passive activities (sitting, lounging, picnicking) is not permitted.
3. Always wear shoes on artificial turf.
4. Brush hair thoroughly and wash hands and exposed body parts aggressively after playing on this field.
5. Clean cuts and abrasions immediately.
6. Remove and turn clothes inside out as soon as possible after playing on this field to avoid tracking dust to other locations.
7. Shake out clothes, shoes, and gear outside before entering car and home. Vacuum any dust/infill that comes into your home.
8. Keep beverages closed and in bags or coolers when not drinking to minimize contamination from field dust, granules, and fibers. Only water is permitted on the turf.
9. No food or gum is permitted on the turf.
