Mr. Bowen’s Politics students had an opportunity to learn more about what goes on in Washington D.C. first hand. “In class Mr. Bowen taught us about current issues facing Congress and we learned daily about healthcare reform and other legislation” says one student. Also Bowen points out that every vote counts and this was evident in Courtney’s 2006 slim victory in 2006 where he won by 83 votes. Bowen also states, “It is all about being civically active so that we can make change happen and provide opportunities for change for our future.”
