A student who is being considered for acceptance must demonstrate a strong interest in the program and meet all of the following admission criteria:
1. Evidence of self-motivation in multiple areas. Examples include: good grades in at least some core subject areas, holding a job, playing an organized sport, having clear post-secondary goals, or maintaining ongoing independent projects outside of school.
2. Ability to work independently at an internship and on self-guided academic work, as evidenced by homework completion in at least some subjects, independent projects and learning outside of school, or holding a job.
3. The applicant has the interpersonal skills necessary to be successful as a member of the student body and a participant in the school’s “Learning through Internship’s” (LTI) program. Students with a recent history of significant anti-social or violent behavior will not be considered for admission.
After the application is received, Depot Campus personnel will review the application and decide whether to move the student to the next step: the interview. If the student is selected for an interview, Depot staff will interview the student applicant and their parent/guardian. Depot Campus staff will also review student records. If accepted, the Depot School Director will make a recommendation regarding admission to the program to the Regional School District #19 Superintendent.
The Depot Campus is open to inquiries from other districts, and will accept appropriate students on a space available tuition basis. Please contact Bill Green at (860) 487-2260 or Superintendent Jill Krieger at (860) 487-1862.
